The Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past American International Academy 70-18 at home. While fans of Maumee Valley Country Day might be used to big wins, the 52-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Maumee Valley Country Day had a senior duo take command as Christian Majors shot 4-for-5 from deep and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds and Amani-Jordan Chandran-Dickerson scored 20 points along with six assists and four steals. Majors has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jorge Soriano, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Maumee Valley Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for American International Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maumee Valley Country Day will stay at home for another game and welcome the Rangers at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. Northwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 589th, while the Hawks are ranked 143rd). As for American International Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
