The Champion Golden Flashes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The contest between them and Crestview wasn't particularly close, with Champion falling 52-38. Champion was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Champion had strong showings from Jake Andreatta, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, and Marky Nolan, who scored 17 points.
Crestview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was justin mckee out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Mckee continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Savage, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Champion has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Crestview, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Champion will face off against the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Crestview, they will head out on the road to face off against the G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Garfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
