North Raleigh Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Discovery Charter School Trailblazers on Thursday. Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Haupt, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Brinkley, who posted six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
The win was the sixth in a row (dating back to last season) for Discovery Charter School, bringing their record up to 3-0.
North Raleigh Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-45 defeat against Wesleyan Christian Academy on the 14th. As for Discovery Charter School, they will take on Wake Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
