Sullivan has gone a perfect 8-0 against Brown County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Golden Arrows will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Sullivan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Sullivan took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past South Putnam 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Golden Arrows, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Ty Hamilton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sullivan let Paul Ridgeway and Hunter Mason run wild. Ridgeway got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Mason went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Ridgeway a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AdAm Mckinley, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Sullivan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Putnam struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Brown County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to South Decatur.
Brown County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Remington Gentry, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Sullivan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Brown County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Brown County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sullivan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10 hits per game. It's a different story for Brown County, though, as they've been averaging 12.3 hits. Given Sullivan's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sullivan skirted past Brown County 4-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Arrows since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
