The Classical Prep Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 70-38 victory over Genesis Prep at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Classical Prep as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Leading Classical Prep to victory were Andrew Ramirez and Kalan Schroder. Ramirez scored 22 points along with two steals, while Schroder scored 23 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Schroder scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Zimmerman, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Classical Prep's victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-13. As for Genesis Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Prep will take on the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Genesis Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hillsborough Baptist is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
