The Holy Cross Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Dayton Greendevils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Dayton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Holy Cross, who comes in off a win.
Holy Cross will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Beechwood last Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Tigers.
Evie Thomas made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Thomas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Madison Urlage was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Baker, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Dayton lost 22-12 to Beechwood on Tuesday. The Greendevils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tayah Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Emily Hall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Holy Cross has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Dayton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holy Cross hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Dayton struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Holy Cross' way against Dayton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Holy Cross made off with a 12-6 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Greendevils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
