The Harding Academy Lions struggled with assists on Tuesday (the First Assembly Christian Crusaders had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Harding Academy fell 46-36 to First Assembly Christian. Harding Academy has not had much luck with First Assembly Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Harding Academy saw an underclassman step up: Bella rose Austin scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Thompson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Marlena Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds for First Assembly Christian. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 22 games she's played. Danae Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Harding Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for First Assembly Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-10.
Harding Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. First Assembly Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
