The West Johnston Wildcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 25-7 fall against South Johnston. West Johnston has struggled against South Johnston recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Johnston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Williams, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. Williams was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Riley Adams also helped with two touchdowns in total.
South Johnston's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Kelvin Fitts and his two sacks.
West Johnston has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for South Johnston, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
West Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Johnston will head out on the road to face off against Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Currituck County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 231 points over their last five matches.
