The Highland Huskies can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 48-14 win over Clearwater Valley. Highland's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Highland found their leader in underclassman Kylee Beck, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Beck is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. Hannah Smith was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Highland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Clearwater Valley, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Highland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Colton at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Colton's defense has only allowed 27.7 points per game this season, so Highland's offense will have their work cut out for Highland. As for Clearwater Valley, they will play host again and welcome Logos, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Logos is ranked 131st, while Clearwater Valley is ranked 128th).
