Edna Karr had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles 49-20. Considering the Cougars have won 11 games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Despite the loss, Evangel Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Peyton Houston, who threw for 249 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 54 yards and one score. A healthy portion of Houston's aerial production (81 yards to be exact) went to Demarkus Evans.
Edna Karr's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Coming up, Edna Karr will face off against Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups. Evangel Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
