The West Valley Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Anderson 82-52 on the road. West Valley pushed the score to 71-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cubs cut but never quite recovered from.
Chase Kalnins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with seven steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Heacock, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
West Valley now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Anderson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
West Valley will take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. University Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matchups -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge. As for Anderson, they will play host again and welcome the Miners, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Yreka is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
