Baseball Recap: Frostproof Takes a Loss

Frostproof lost against Avon Park back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Frostproof Bulldogs lost 11-2 to the Avon Park Red Devils. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nico Rybinski was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Bradley Roberts also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen bases of the season.

Frostproof's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Avon Park, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frostproof will take on Santa Fe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Fe Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Avon Park, they will square off against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Avon Park is facing Lake Placid at the right time seeing as Lake Placid is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
