Central California recap Sept. 26, 2012
Turlock was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Central California. Earlier in the week, the Bulldogs defeated Davis 54-35.
Golden Valley moved up to 359 from 534 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 22-20 win over McNair helped the Cougars improve their standing.
Atwater's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nathan Duran threw for 16 yards and JoJo Ochoa had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Dallas Hoofard chipped in 71 yards. Hoofard helped Atwater's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Merced's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Eli Gutierrez has thrown for 814 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Bradley Adamson has 15 catches for 301 yards. Errol Dennis leads the league in rushing with 469 yards.
Pitman took down Franklin 62-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
