1A Region 4 recap September 17, 2013
Salem's Julius Faulk rumbled for the longest rushing play in 1A Region 4 this season in his game against Stringer last week. Faulk scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 96 on the day as his team lost to the Red Devils.
Cathedral was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Green Wave defeated Hinds County Agricultural 40-30.
Jatarrian Clark was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 189 yards on 29 carries as Lumberton beat the Bulldogs. Joe Arnold also contributed to the rushing game with 76 yards on the ground.
Damien Terrell threw for 42 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Terrell put up the best numbers in passing as Bogue Chitto topped Mount Olive.
Anderson had an awesome week catching the football as Ron Rushing's team topped Hinds County Agricultural. He caught 11 passes for 221 yards.

Anderson was the best receiver in 1A Region 4 this week as the Green Wave topped Michael Fields' team. Ishmael Blackmon helped Cathedral's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 79 yards.
Cathedral's Thomas Garrity and Anderson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Garrity has thrown for 1,451 yards this season, while Anderson has 42 catches for 696 yards. The Bobcats' Jermaine Blackwell leads the league in rushing yards with 508.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Bogue Chitto takes on Sacred Heart. As it stands, the Bobcats are in second, while the Crusaders are in fifth.
Bogue Chitto added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Pirates, 44-8. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
