Manteno put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Clifton Central Comets a 10-0 shutout. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Manteno's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs. As for Clifton Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-7-1 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manteno will take on Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clifton Central, they will face off against Gardner-South Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
