On Friday, The Water Canyon Wildcats faced the Whitehorse Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Water Canyon didn't even let Whitehorse onto the board and left with a 26-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Water Canyon, who have now won five matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Johnny Johnson, who threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries.
Another reason for the win was Water Canyon's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Whitehorse's QB won't forget David Barlow anytime soon given Barlow sacked him five times.
Water Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Whitehorse, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Water Canyon will take on Rich at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Rich is ranked second, while Water Canyon is ranked fourth). Whitehorse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
