Volleyball Recap: Hudson Gets the Win

North Royalton came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Hudson, but Maribeth Slater wouldn't allow it. The Explorers walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bears on Thursday for which the team can thank Slater, who had eight digs and three aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

While Hudson might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Royalton scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Despite the loss, North Royalton still got an impressive performance from Ally Buffa, who had 21 digs and four assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Panichi, who had 11 digs and four assists.

Hudson's record now sits at 12-10. As for North Royalton, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Hudson will host Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th. The Rangers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Explorers surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Royalton, after both having extra time off, they and Perry will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th.
