The Ralston Valley Mustangs will be playing at home against the Lakewood Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ralston Valley will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ralston Valley beat Legend 46-42. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Ralston Valley has scored all year.
It was another big night for Jackson Hansen, who scored 14 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Trebilcock, who scored four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lakewood struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (Arvada West had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Lakewood falling 62-47. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Arvada West: they've now lost five in a row.
Lakewood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Silburn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Quentin Wilson who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Bazan-Torres, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Ralston Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Everything came up roses for Ralston Valley against Lakewood in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 95-39 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lakewood's Deuce Warren, who scored 17 points. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Ralston Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
