Thomas County Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Travesha Giddens, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Marcy Pearson who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Kirsten Guyton was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Thomas County Central has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season. As for Houston County, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Thomas County Central is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Brooks County at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. The timing is sure in Brooks County's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Thomas County Central has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Houston County will take on Tift County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Houston County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Tift County is ranked 13th).
