The Dunnellon Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Trinity Catholic Celtics at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Dunnellon had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt West Port on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wolf Pack a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolf Pack: they've now won six in a row.
Draven White made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Roland, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jayvyn Fraziars also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Dunnellon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Crystal River as they made off with a 12-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Celtics' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Nate Colon looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Wyatt North was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Rudman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Dunnellon's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Trinity Catholic, their record is now 7-16.
Dunnellon might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Trinity Catholic when the teams last played back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
