When it comes to explaining why Immanuel Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zachary Guevara. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guevara has scored all season.
Lone Pine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cristian Duran out in front who scored 22 points along with two blocks. Duran has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alfonso Castro, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.
Immanuel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lone Pine, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immanuel Christian will take on Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Richard Ibarra and Guevara. As for Lone Pine, they will be playing at home against Tonopah at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tonopah is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
