If the Pecatonica Indians were feeling good off their 51-18 takedown of the Durand Bulldogs last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pecatonica took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Aquin Catholic. It was the first time this season that Pecatonica let down their fans at home.
Aquin Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meghan Carlisle, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Paityn London, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Pecatonica's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 21-5. As for Aquin Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Pecatonica will head out on the road to take on Dakota at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Aquin Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Oregon at 10:30 a.m. Oregon is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
