Northern Garrett had won four straight games and Marisa Perez did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Northern Garrett Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 victory over the Fort Hill Sentinels thanks to Perez, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Kaylee Bowser, who earned four points along with six boards and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Northern Garrett's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 11-8. As for Fort Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Northern Garrett wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-21 victory against Frankfort on the 18th. As for Fort Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-18 defeat against Allegany on the 17th.
