With a playoff game on the line, the First Baptist Saints rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 55-33 win. Fans of First Baptist have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
It was another big night for Hunter McCoy, who rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 194 yards and five touchdowns. McCoy has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last ten times he's played. Alijah Cason did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The win for First Baptist keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Lubbock Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.
First Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lubbock Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
