MIAMI, Fla. - the Tornadoes had a big 30-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 57-0 victory over Gulliver Prep (Miami, Fla.).
Washington scored on a
Krondis Larry touchdown run, a touchdown run by
Mark Walton, a
Treon Harris touchdown pass to
Deltron Hopkins and a Larry touchdown run in the quarter.
WHS was up 50-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Harris touchdown pass to
Karim Bryant in the first quarter.
The Tornadoes expanded their lead to 57 points entering the fourth quarter. Washington's lone score in the quarter came on a
Rashard Frye touchdown run.
With the win WHS extended its winning streak to 10 games. The Tornadoes defeated the Eagles 71-0 last week.
Harris played well for Washington in the victory. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
WHS came into the game allowing 11.5 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Tornadoes came away with a 48-13 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Gulliver Prep, which notched a 25-7 victory over Inlet Grove in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Raiders' 3-game winning streak.
