The Cocoa Tigers waltzed into Friday's matchup with five straight wins but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Palm Bay 49-14 at home. Cocoa might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cocoa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Latrison Lane, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns. Lane hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Hart, who threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns.
Cocoa's victory was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.73 points. As for Palm Bay, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Cocoa will head out on the road to face off against Rockledge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockledge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Cocoa is ranked fourth). As for Palm Bay, they will be playing at home against Satellite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
