The Heritage Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Bluffton 60-26. While losing is never fun, Heritage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Bluffton is ranked 113th).
Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Grace Guenthner, who scored eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Otte, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Maryn Schreiber, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds for Bluffton. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schreiber has scored all season. Isabella Stout was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Heritage dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Bluffton, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.
Heritage will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Garrett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bluffton, they will be playing at home against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
