Cloverleaf has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will square off against the Crestwood Red Devils at 6:45 p.m. Hopefully Cloverleaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Sunday.
Last Sunday, Cloverleaf came up short against North Olmsted and fell 46-35.
Despite their loss, Cloverleaf saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Evie Barth, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Barth scored a full 45.7% of Cloverleaf's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Shook, who scored 2 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-13, which was the final score in Crestwood's tilt against Rootstown on Tuesday.
Grace Harper was Crestwood's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Piper Seibold took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with a assist.
With Cloverleaf's victory and North Olmsted's loss, both teams now sport identical 1-1 records.
Cloverleaf took their victory against Crestwood when the teams last played back in December of 2017 by a conclusive 61-41. Does Cloverleaf have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crestwood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
