It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Yulee Hornets can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 32-14 to Baker County. Yulee's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Baker County can attribute much of their success to Benny Lewis, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Seth Chestnut got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Baker County's defense and their three sacks. Case Foster was especially locked on to Yulee's QB and sacked him twice.
Yulee's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Baker County, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Yulee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Baker County will head out on the road to face off against Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bradford presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Baker County in Florida (Bradford is ranked 50th, while Baker County is ranked 128th).
