The Central Christian Comets lost against the Lucas Cubs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Central Christian suffered a tough 56-32 defeat at the hands of the Cubs. Central Christian has not had much luck with the Cubs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Lucas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabe Porter, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Aidan Culler was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Central Christian's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Lucas, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Christian will take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lucas, they and the Flames will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mansfield Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
