The South Walton Seahawks will be playing at home against the Stanton Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with South Walton sitting on eight straight victories and Stanton on four.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Walton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Pirates onto the board and left with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for South Walton, who have now won 12 contests by three goals or more so far this season.
They hit Fernandina Beach with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Macy Chambers (3),
Maiya Bowers (2),
Piper Kurfirst, and
Jadyn Lo Bue - Holzer.
Meanwhile, Stanton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Bishop Kenny 2-1.
South Walton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Stanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5-3 record this season.
