Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tahkari Bates and Paul Joire Lead School Without Walls to Victory

School Without Walls lost to Calverton back in December of 2018, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The School Without Walls Penguins strolled past Calverton with points to spare, taking the game 45-29.

Leading School Without Walls to victory were Paul Joire and Tahkari Bates. Joire dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards, while Bates went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points. Joire is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidiire Nwokwu, who posted two points and seven assists.

Calverton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Justus Washington, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, and Nathan Lauzon, who put up 11 points.

The win got School Without Walls back to even at 2-2. As for Calverton, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

School Without Walls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-50 victory against Model Secondary School for the Deaf on the 7th. As for Calverton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-58 win against The Lab School of Washington on the 7th.
