Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Global Falls Despite Big Games from Xavier Eddington and John Stokes III

On Thursday, the Combine Academy Global Goats were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 67-61 to the Quality Education Academy Regional Fighting Pharaohs. The Goats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Combine Academy Global's loss came despite strong showings from John Stokes III and Xavier Eddington. Stokes III dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Eddington went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most points Eddington has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ruichi Miyagi, who posted 13 points.

Even though they lost, Combine Academy Global smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 0 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.4.

Combine Academy Global now has a losing record at 9-10.

Coincidentally, Combine Academy Global and Quality Education Academy Regional will both be playing Carter G. Woodson the next time they take the court. Quality Education Academy Regional will host Carter G. Woodson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Combine Academy Global will head out to face them on Tuesday.
