Having just played yesterday, the Nease Panthers will get right back to it and host the Bartram Trail Bears at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nease has three straight victories, Bartram Trail has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Nease can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They claimed a resounding 56-27 win over Riverside at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Nease has posted since December 15, 2023.
Nease's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Shruthika Kondabrolu, who scored 12 points along with four steals, and Audrey Rollins, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Rollins continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniela Reich, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Bartram Trail fought the good fight in their overtime match against Beachside on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Barracudas by a score of 42-40. While losing is never fun, Bartram Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while Beachside is ranked 48th).
Nease's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Bartram Trail, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-13.
Nease strolled past Bartram Trail in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 46-30. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bartram Trail's Aja Pollard, who scored 16 points along with two steals and two blocks. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Nease to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
