Even though the Rockdale County Bulldogs scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, the Mundy's Mill Tigers still came out on top. Mundy's Mill sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-69 win over Rockdale County. This was payback for Mundy's Mill, who suffered a 56-54 loss the last time these two teams met.
Mundy's Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dajuan Riddle led the charge by scoring 19 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Riddle has scored at least 25% of Mundy's Mill's points. Fred Umeano was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Mundy's Mill now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rockdale County, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Mundy's Mill will be playing in front of their home fans against Jonesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockdale County, they will head out on the road to face off against Archer at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Archer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Rockdale County likes a good challenge.
