Mark Breton and Evan Hopson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Warwick Veterans. The connection went for 82 yards, the longest such play in Division II-A this season.
Johnston extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Hurricanes, 42-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Johnston's dynamic duo of Steve Simone and Hopson proved tough for Warwick Veterans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Simone threw for 70 yards and two touchdowns and Hopson had 122 yards receiving. Steve Perfetto helped Johnston's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Austin McQuaide was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 170 yards on 29 carries as Chariho defeated Michael Nappa's team. Stallion Collins also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
On the ground, the Chargers' McQuaide has rushed for 1089 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hopson. The Johnston star has 10 catches for 344 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Westerly and the Panthers. The Bulldogs enters the game ranked 18th in the state, while Johnston ranks fifth.
The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Hurricanes. Simone ran for nine yards in the win.
