Monacan is a perfect 3-0 against Chancellor since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Monacan Chiefs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chancellor Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Monacan beats Chancellor with 71 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Monacan beat Mechanicsville on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 71-22. The victory was familiar territory for the Chiefs, who have now won three matches in a row.

Trinity Jones was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 14 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Donnelly, who posted 19 points and seven assists.
Monacan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chancellor walked away with it. They blew past the Cougars 44-23 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won seven in a row.
Monacan better keep an eye on Lydia Brockelbank. She was instrumental in Chancellor's win, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Brockelbank now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Natalie Lanning, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and five steals.
Monacan pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.5 points over those games. As for Chancellor, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Monacan has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chancellor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Monacan against Chancellor when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 90-53 victory. Does Monacan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chancellor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
