The Woodcreek Timberwolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 84-76 victory over Yuba City. The victory was nothing new for Woodcreek as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Leading Woodcreek to victory were Tyler Hennessey and Aidan Triplet. Hennessey scored 16 points, while Triplet scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Hennessey continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Nielsen, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Yuba City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Saleem Rafiq, who scored 25 points. The match was Rafiq's 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abhi Mehata, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds.
Woodcreek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Yuba City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodcreek will face off against Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Inderkum is ranked 77th, while Woodcreek is ranked 62nd). As for Yuba City, they will head out on the road to face off against Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Antelope will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
