Lancaster took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They put the hurt on the Darlington Redbirds with a sharp 14-3 win. The Flying Arrows not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024.
Maddy Hill made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Hill was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Lancaster got a big performance out of Amelia Johnsen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Kya Streif was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Darlington is on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lancaster will host Belmont at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Darlington, they will square off against Mineral Point at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
