Waterbury Career Academy has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Woodland Regional Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterbury Career Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 791 points over their last ten games.
Even though Crosby scored an imposing 55 points last Friday, Waterbury Career Academy still came out on top. Waterbury Career Academy strolled past Crosby with points to spare, taking the game 71-55.
Woodland Regional suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Holy Cross by a score of 58-56. While losing is never fun, Woodland Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Holy Cross is ranked 33rd).
Despite their loss, Woodland Regional saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. James Scampolino, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. John Napiello was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Waterbury Career Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.6 points per game. As for Woodland Regional, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Waterbury Career Academy against Woodland Regional when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 94-56 victory.
