First Assembly Christian posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 61-34 victory over Northpoint Christian on the road. Given First Assembly Christian's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked sixth in Tennessee, while Northpoint Christian is ranked 146th in Mississippi), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, St. George's pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 78-55 defeat to Harding Academy might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss St. George's has suffered against Harding Academy since January 18, 2019.
St. George's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Jones, who scored 17 points, and Tristan Farris who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Zeke Cowell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
First Assembly Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for St. George's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
