The Peoria Panthers are on the road again on Monday and play against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully Peoria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Saturday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 24% better than the opposition, a fact Peoria proved. They came out on top against Arizona College Prep by a score of 36-28. Given Peoria's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Arizona College Prep is ranked 123rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cieraka Lynch was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michelle Kogbara, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors was able to grind out a solid win over Poston Butte on Thursday, taking the game 39-29. The victory was just what Paradise Honors needed coming off of a 74-44 defeat in their prior match.
Their wins bumped Peoria to 5-0 and Arizona College Prep to 2-3.
Peoria strolled past Paradise Honors when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a score of 60-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peoria since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
