Newman Catholic had a rough outing against Grundy Center last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Newman Catholic strolled past St. Ansgar with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-26. For Newman Catholic, this is just revenge for the 0-44 loss they suffered against St. Ansgar the last time they faced one another.
The win bumped Newman Catholic's record up to 6-2. The defeat dropped St. Ansgar's record to 5-3.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Newman Catholic take on South Winneshiek at 7:00 PM. South Winneshiek took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Newman Catholic's good fortune. As for St. Ansgar, they will face off against Central Springs.
