The biggest upset of the week belonged to San Marcos, who took down 373rd ranked Del Norte, 41-17. Drew Olson threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 51 yards in the win.
The Knights moved up to 388 from 467 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley. San Marcos climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Nighthawks 41-17.
Jason Texler's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kyle Lewis chipped in 191 yards. Cameron Cruz helped San Marcos' passing attack out by catching one ball for 57 yards.
Trevor Waite was the best wideout in the league this week as the Knights defeated Del Norte. Waite racked up three receptions for 101 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Olson and Cory McKesson San Marcos has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Olson leads the league in passing with 1407 yards, while McKesson has rushed for 595 yards this season. Mt. Carmel's Tevin Malone leads the league in receiving yards with 465 on 15 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Knights take on the Sundevils. San Marcos is currently in second, while Mt. Carmel is in fourth.
Orange Glen and El Cajon Valley played the most hotly contested game in Valley this week, with Orange Glen eventually emerging with a 21-15 victory. Carlos Santamaria in the win.
