The Central Rebels entered their tilt with the Fredericktown Black Cats with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Central enjoyed a cozy 66-47 victory over the Black Cats on Wednesday. Given Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Black Cats are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Black Cats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keira Francis, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ava Penuel, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Central pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Fredericktown, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Arcadia Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Fredericktown, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
