The Sandia Prep Sundevils were the 47-34 winner over the Bloomfield Bobcats when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Sandia Prep took a 60-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomfield on Thursday. Sandia Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Bloomfield to victory were Andrew Florez and Xavier Abernathy. Florez scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Abernathy dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Florez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Slivers, who scored 12 points.
Sandia Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Sandia Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bloomfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bernalillo at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. One thing working in Bernalillo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
