Baldwin has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Griffin Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Baldwin posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 86-32 victory over Spalding at home. Given Baldwin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Spalding is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tremarius Lawrence, who scored 27 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Karez Demory was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with four steals.
Griffin only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 39-point they dealt Perry on Tuesday. Griffin took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 70-31 win over Perry. Winning may never get old, but Griffin sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Baldwin's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Griffin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Baldwin took their win against Griffin in their previous meeting on January 2nd by a conclusive 62-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Baldwin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
