The Nixa Eagles waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They breezed by Carl Junction at home to the tune of 86-46. Nixa has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 30 points or more this season.
When it comes to explaining why Carl Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jett Hocut. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Hocut scored 15 or more points. Wyatt McAfee was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Nixa's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Carl Junction, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nixa will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Neosho at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Carl Junction, they will head out on the road to square off against Monett at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Carl Junction is ranked 155th).
