At the plate, Brayden Smith and Josie Knight did most of the damage at the plate: Smith went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple, while Knight got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Knight a new career-high. Beckham Manley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Allen was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Prosper. Considering Allen has won 18 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Yahmadi Morgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run.
In other batting news, Harper Dennis was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and seven RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Allen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive games.
Allen's victory bumped their record up to 23-3. As for McKinney Boyd, their win bumped their record up to 10-18.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. McKinney Boyd hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Allen struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
