Eagle Rock got a massive performance out of Stephanie Gras, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Gras a new career-high. Joleen Cardoza also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Eagle Rock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bishop Alemany waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Vaqueros as they made off with an 18-3 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Kalie Peralta made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Mia Martin Landa and Yaretzi Santana did most of the damage at the plate: Martin Landa went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Santana got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eden Turrubiartes, who earned four RBI and two runs.
Eagle Rock's record is now 3-1. As for Bishop Alemany, their record now sits at 5-3.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eagle Rock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Bishop Alemany struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eagle Rock came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Alemany in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
